Bitfinex runs a peer-to-peer funding market: lenders supply USD, USDT, or BTC, and traders borrow that liquidity to open margin positions. Lenders earn daily interest at market-driven rates, which typically range from around 3% APR in calm markets to over 30% APR during volatility spikes. Interest is paid out each day the loan stays active.

You connect a scoped Bitfinex API key (read + funding-write permissions, never withdraw). EarnUSD's backend reads your minimum-rate preference, reserved balance, and Bitfinex's live order book every 5 minutes, then places funding offers on your behalf. It also re-lends matured loans automatically and switches to once-per-minute checks when rates spike — so you capture brief high-rate windows without watching the screen.

Yes. Your funds stay in your own Bitfinex account at all times — EarnUSD never holds, transfers, or withdraws them. The API key you provide grants only the permissions needed to place funding offers (history:read, funding:read, funding:write, wallets:read). Withdraw and wallet-transfer permissions are refused at setup.

Bitfinex requires each funding offer to be at least USD 151 (or equivalent in USDT or BTC). Beyond that you control every parameter: minimum acceptable rate, reserved balance held back from lending, per-order amount, and maximum loan period (2 to 120 days).
